Event Description

Join us for a busy day of meetings with leaders in Iowa state government at the 41st Annual Des Moines Day trip. With the new Senate majority, new members of the legislature, and new agenda items on the table, this year's session will definitely be one to watch, and Des Moines Day is your chance to talk directly with the people making it happen.

Highlights for this year include:

  • Meeting with Gov. Branstad and Lt. Governor Reynolds
  • High-level interactive panel discussion on workforce, education, and economic development with Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, IEDA Director Debi Durham, Iowa Workforce Development Director Beth Townsen, and Iowa Department of Education Director Ryan Wise.
  • Meetings with Speaker Upmeyer and majority & minority leaders from both the House and Senate.
  • Lunch program included.
Back by popular demand this year: we will be joined by high school student leaders in the Mayor's Youth Commission. Limited seating on a chartered bus with the students will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please email Sam Wagner at swagner@siouxlandchamber.com if you would like to ride the bus.
