First Serve Tennis Center has been the home of a resurgence of tennis in Siouxland.
Since opening in January 2020 with 3 indoor courts, First Serve Tennis Center has been the training home for several players who have earned collegiate tennis scholarships, two local high school teams that qualified for the state tournament in Iowa earlier this year, and a Nebraska high school State Champion, Siouxland's first since 1999.
Additionally, literally hundreds of kids ages 5 and above have been introduced to the lifetime sport of tennis through First Serve's group instructional clinics.
Just a couple of years down the road from First Serve's opening in 2020, the demand for courts was so strong that fundraising for an expansion began.
Once again, dozens of individuals, businesses, foundations, along with state and local governments got behind the campaign to the tune of one and a half million dollars, essentially the same amount that was raised for the first 3 courts.
Today, First Serve Tennis Center has 4 full-time and 2 part-time instructors, 6 indoor courts, 3 of which are designed to also serve as 12 pickleball courts, and 2 new outdoor courts that were completed this month.
