Position Title: Admissions Coordinator FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Department: Admissions & Student Records Schedule: Full-Time
Reports To: Director of Admissions & Student Records
Rate of pay: $21.64 - $24.04 DOE
Organization and Location:
The position is located on the main campus, at Little Priest Tribal College (LPTC) in Winnebago, Nebraska.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 or more hours. General work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 – 5:00 p.m. (which includes a half-hour lunch) but can vary as needed to perform duties assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain computerized spreadsheet/database information on student enrollment.
- Process admission and registration forms and/or admission applications to ensure accuracy and completeness, enter data, and forward or file paperwork. Creates or maintains files in Campus Cafe.
- Assist Director of Admissions & Student Records in the revision of record-keeping systems and office procedures by analyzing operating practices and implementing change as needed.
- Maintain the record-keeping system and form control in conjunction with the Director of Admissions.
- Uses a college-issued computer and a variety of office software applications, including word processing, email, and file management. Prepares documents in Word using templates and form letters or develops new formatting as necessary.
- Coordinate the preparation of internal and external reports, including setting up a spreadsheet/database to keep statistics relevant to admissions/registration activities.
- Communicate with applicants or other personnel of the college by phone, in person, or through electronic media.
- Complete the applicant communication cycle.
- Assesses customers’ needs and explains services, processes, procedures, and guidelines.
- Apply knowledge of and adherence to confidentiality requirements and code of ethics. Required to complete FERPA training within 90 days of the start date.
- Maintain, at all times, an organized, pleasant, professional office atmosphere to properly represent the college.
- Handle requests and communications from college staff/faculty, Tribal and community agencies as requested.
- Carry out daily activities in the absence of the Director.
- May assist the Director in developing or revising procedures, forms, and policies.
- Will work to become a certified proctor for all placement testing.
REQUIRED Qualifications and Competencies:
- Associate’s Degree in a related field
- 2 years of previous customer service experience required
- Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office Applications and be able to learn the functions of the student information system
PREFERRED Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Experience working in tribal organizations in Native American communities, or for a Tribal College or University
- General Knowledge of higher education policies, practices, and procedures
Condition of Employment:
- This is a 100% on-site position.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background screen.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
- Must have a valid driver’s license without restrictions and must be insurable
