The Siouxland/Washington Conference, held every spring since 1954, offers a unique opportunity to join community leaders from the tri-state area in traveling to Washington, DC, to present regional priorities to our Congressional delegation. Conference attendees engage in discussions with all six Senators representing Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, as well as the eight Representatives from these states. The two-day schedule is packed with meetings on Capitol Hill, including sessions with key department officials and representatives focused on our priority issues. This tradition-rich event also features a steak reception on the first evening, allowing participants to mingle informally with the tri-state Congressional delegation.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Each conference attendee is responsible for their own travel arrangements. United Airlines has a daily departure from Sioux City (SUX) to Chicago (ORD) at 12:55 PM with an arrival in Washington, DC (DCA) at 7:13 PM. Make your reservation through your travel agent or online at flysux.com.
ACCOMMODATIONS
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Yotel Washington DC (formerly The Liaison Hotel) for our group at a single rate of $299 + taxes and fees. To make your reservation, call 833-319-1883 by March 16, 2026 and identify yourself as a part of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce group - or click here to make your reservation online. It is imperative that our conference attendees use these accommodations in order to fulfill the contract with the hotel.

The Siouxland Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce our first-ever Siouxland Workforce Signing Day, taking place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Tyson Events Center. For this inaugural event, we have partnered with Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, Dakota Valley School District, Elk Point-Jefferson School District, Sergeant Bluff-Luton Community School District, Sioux City Career Academy, Sioux City Community School District, Siouxland Christian School, and the South Sioux City Community School District, to identify graduating seniors who have chosen to enter the workforce or serve in the military rather than pursue a post-secondary education. However, if your company has identified a graduating senior you plan to hire following graduation, please email Laura Hartman and we will make sure they are included in this special event.
This event was created to celebrate students who are entering the workforce after graduation and give them their own moment of recognition. It also provides an opportunity to highlight our Chamber members who are investing in and retaining young talent right here in Siouxland.

If a school identifies a student who will be joining your company, we will follow up with additional details. Each participating company will have its own table and the opportunity to display signage or a step-and-repeat backdrop if desired. We also encourage employers to consider bringing a welcome bag or company swag to help celebrate their newest team members.
