We’re pleased to introduce the Siouxland Series Luncheon, a new quarterly luncheon series designed to bring Chamber members and their employees together for timely conversations, practical insights, and meaningful takeaways from leaders shaping our region.

The Siouxland Series will replace and bring together several past programming efforts, including the Ag series, Small Business Education Series, and Women Mentoring Network (WMN). By consolidating these programs into one quarterly luncheon, we aim to provide broader perspectives, stronger content, and greater value, while making it easier for members and their employees to stay connected and engaged.

Join us for a busy day of meetings with leaders in Iowa state government at the 49th Annual Des Moines Day trip. This year's session will definitely be one to watch, and Des Moines Day is your chance to talk directly with the people making it happen. The itinerary is being finalized and will be distributed to participants when complete. Anticipate a 6:00 a.m. Sioux City departure and 4:30 p.m. Des Moines departure.

Feb 18    Groundbreaking - Heartland Counseling Services
Join us as Heartland Counseling Services breaks ground on their new Crisis Stabilization & Detox Center. There will be light refreshments following the groundbreaking.

This new facility will expand access to mental health and substance use crisis care in Siouxland, ensuring individuals can receive timely, compassionate treatment close to home. With 12 mental health beds and 12 detox beds, the center will increase local capacity, ease the burden on hospitals and law enforcement, and provide a safe, supportive place for stabilization and recovery. 

This new facility is rooted in a simple belief: everyone deserves immediate, compassionate care during a mental health or substance use crisis. The facility ensures people in Siouxland won’t have to wait in emergency rooms, travel far from home, or go without help. Instead, they’ll have a safe, local place to turn for immediate care, support, and a path forward — strengthening not only individuals, but our entire community.

Join us as Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Sioux City celebrates the grand opening of their Angeline's Wing for Children & Families. An open house will be from 3:30 - 5:00PM. View the invitation here.

The new 7,200-square-foot addition was designed to expand specialized youth mental health services and is named in memory of Angeline Thom, whose estate provided the lead gift for the project. In addition, they made renovations to the existing building that enhances services for adult mental health care and substance use disorder programs.

Catholic Charities empowers and strengthens all individuals and families, through charity, advocacy and mental health services inspired by Christ’s love and compassion. They serve people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds and no one needing mental health care is turned away for the inability to pay.

The Siouxland/Washington Conference, held every spring since 1954, offers a unique opportunity to join community leaders from the tri-state area in traveling to Washington, DC, to present regional priorities to our Congressional delegation. Conference attendees engage in discussions with all six Senators representing Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, as well as the eight Representatives from these states. The two-day schedule is packed with meetings on Capitol Hill, including sessions with key department officials and representatives focused on our priority issues. This tradition-rich event also features a steak reception on the first evening, allowing participants to mingle informally with the tri-state Congressional delegation.

Each conference attendee is responsible for their own travel arrangements. United Airlines has a daily departure from Sioux City (SUX) to Chicago (ORD) at 12:55 PM with an arrival in Washington, DC (DCA) at 7:13 PM. Make your reservation through your travel agent or online at flysux.com.
 

ACCOMMODATIONS
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Yotel Washington DC (formerly The Liaison Hotel) for our group at a single rate of $299 + taxes and fees. Join us as we celebrate Sunrise Retirement Community's 65th anniversary! Following the ribbon cutting, there will be a memorial tree planting and refreshments. 

Sunrise Retirement Community is Siouxland’s only community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit senior care community. Governed by a local board of directors, Sunrise has been serving seniors from Sioux City and the surrounding area since 1961. Over the years, services and living options have expanded to provide a full care continuum including, independent living, affordable housing for seniors, Medicare skilled/rehab services, long-term nursing care, nursing memory care, assisted living and assisted living memory care.
