Join us in welcoming Calhoun Communications to their new location. They will be serving food and refreshments after the ribbon cutting.
Calhoun Communications was formed over 40 years ago by Jerry (Cal) and Norma Calhoun as a contract engineering company that provided technical services to small market AM and FM broadcasters in the upper great plain states. Starting out with only part time technicians, Cal and Norma grew the business throughout the years by staying abreast of new technologies and expanding into these technologies, primarily broadband wireless solutions. Today the company has 11 employees comprised of RF Engineers, tower technicians, IT specialist and business development personnel as well as administrative staff. With the expertise of their team they are still pursuing new growth into other technical offerings such as surveillance cameras, warning sirens, cyber security and other internet based technologies. Due to the growth of the company it was decided to design and construct the facility they have now to better accommodate their operations in a more efficient manner. Cal was very proud about the new facility and had Norma drive him out to check on the progress often but unfortunately Cal passed away before the completion of the new building. |

| Join us in celebrating Hope Street of Siouxland's second location! Hope Street of Siouxland has been open for three years to address homelessness in the greater Siouxland community. They now have a second location open at 1918 Douglas Street to help transition those on the path to independence. There have been over 30 individuals who have been able to transition from the streets to becoming productive members of the community. Governor Reynolds will be joining us in celebrating our success. |

Join us in celebration of their new animatronic exhibit, "York Comes to Life".
The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center will open its new exhibit "York Comes to Life." York, the enslaved servant of Captain William Clark, was a member of the Corps of Discovery Expedition, working side by side with the soldiers. He is credited in the Captain's journal as helping care for Sgt. Floyd during his illness and death. The exhibit has York relating his thoughts and feelings about his life and being on the expedition. The Center was able to fund the animatronic thanks to a grant from the State Historical Society of Iowa and MRHD. |
