Join us as we cut the ribbon to celebrate the new gazebo at Siouxland Freedom Park.
Siouxland Freedom Park is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring our veterans of all wars and conflicts and of all branches of service. The Park with its monuments outside and exhibits inside the Interpretive Center will educate all visitors about the veteran experience. The Park currently contains the Vietnam War Memorial Wall, an exact half-scale replica of the one in Washington, DC, a dog park, a 30’ x 60’ US flag that flies proudly, a perennial garden by the Martha Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the only Freedom Rock in Nebraska. In the works are the exhibits inside the Interpretive Center and the Korean War Memorial, both of which will be completed this fall.

Under the direction of their Service Manager Whitney Turner, they have expanded the Service Department this summer to accommodate more technicians and improve efficiency. They are also excited to announce the promotion of Michael Zellmer-McMahan to their leadership team. Michael manages many parts of their school music operations as well as our entire Learning Center which provides weekly lessons to over 200 Siouxland students. Finally, as part of their drive to involve as many children in school band and orchestra as possible, they're extending their First Month Free initiative to expand access to quality instruments for every beginner in Siouxland this year.

Join us as we celebrate the grand opening of Wahlburgers located in Hy-Vee and welcome them as a new Chamber member.
The restaurant transitioned from a full-service Market Grille to become a casual, counter-service Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee restaurant, open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Sioux City location will be the 73rd Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee to open across its eight-state region. The restaurant will include most of the same menu options as the full-service Wahlburgers locations, featuring its signature burgers, home-style sides, house made condiments, salads, sandwiches, shakes and a full-service bar including beer, wine and cocktails. Customers can still order their Hy-Vee breakfast favorites daily from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the full menu is available to order online via Hy-Vee Mealtime to Go.
Chef Paul Wahlberg created the Wahlburgers franchise, along with brothers Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, for friends and family to come together over delicious chef-inspired dishes served up in a casual, music-filled atmosphere. Join us as we break ground for the new mountain bike trail.
The Cone Park – Natural Surface Trails Project is a public improvement project located at Cone Park and Sertoma Park which includes construction of new shared-use trails, highly optimized bike only trails and mountain bike amenities. The Cone Park site will be located adjacent to the Cone Park Lodge and will provide trailhead access to approximately 10.5 miles of new, sustainably constructed single-track shared use, and bike only trails, including an intermediate skills trail with prefabricated and natural skill features. The pump-track, a smaller looping trail that can be rode continuously without pedaling with momentum gained simply by pumping the bumps and corners, will be constructed on land near the Cone Park Lodge.

You are invited to a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Truck Driving & Welding Expansion at Northeast Community College's South Sioux City extended campus location. Governor Jim Pillen will be in attendance.
The groundbreaking will be for an 11,600 sq. ft. CDL training facility and an adjacent truck driving range. (Work is presently underway on the truck driving range) In addition, a 1,500 sq. ft. addition will be constructed on Northeast’s existing Industrial Training building to increase capacity of the welding program. The facilities and driving range will be located just to the west of the main extended campus building.
