The Siouxland Chamber of Commerce partnered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host a first-of-its-kind civics competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.

In the first round of the contest, local 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students participated in an essay competition.  Judges selected 20 finalists to participate in the local live quiz event on April 1st to test their civics knowledge.  The top three winners will move on to the state competition in August. 

FIRST PLACE - $500 CASH PRIZE
SECOND PLACE - $250 CASH PRIZE
THIRD PLACE - $125 CASH PRIZE

 
We would love to have you come and support our 20 local finalists on April 1st.

Join us as we welcome Napa Auto Parts as a new Chamber member.

The National Automotive Parts Association (NAPA), also known as NAPA Auto Parts, founded in 1925, is an American retailers' cooperative distributing automotive replacement parts, accessories and service items throughout North America.
 
Across the decades, Genuine Parts began to acquire the other NAPA member companies, and in 2012 became the last remaining member of NAPA, a brand with a reputation for quality parts, rapid availability, and knowledgeable people. Join us as STARS celebrates their 40th anniversary. 

Special Troopers Adaptive Riding School, STARS has been providing Equine Assisted Services to the Siouxland community since 1984. STARS provides opportunities for anyone ages 2 and up that has a diagnosed disability to interact with horses in Adaptive Horsemanship classes such Horseback Riding or Ground Work. Equine Services is also available at STARS for individuals, 13 or old working with a Mental Health Counselor, that would like to experience a client lead session with horses as a part of their team. Horses are incredible partners in the STARS program and a simple interaction with them can be the difference in someone’s day. The STARS program is only possible with the help from volunteers that offer their time regularly and the financial support of donors in our community.

She says strength training is important for women of any age but is especially important as we get older. Apr 17 - Apr 18    69th Siouxland/Washington Conference

The Siouxland/Washington Conference, held every Spring since 1954, is a unique opportunity to join with community leaders from the tri-state area to travel to Washington, DC and present regional issues of importance to our Congressional delegation.  Conference attendees have the opportunity to discuss issues with each of the six Senators representing Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, as well as the eight Representatives from the three states. Attendees participate in a two-day schedule packed with meetings around the Hill.  The tradition-rich event also boasts a steak reception on the first evening of the conference where conference goers mingle one-on-one with the tri-state Congressional delegation in an informal setting.

Each conference attendee is responsible for their own travel arrangements. United Airlines has a daily departure from Sioux City (SUX) to Chicago (ORD) at 7:24 AM with an arrival in Washington, D.C. (DCA) at 2:02 PM or 3:37 PM. Make your reservation through your travel agent or online at flysux.com.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Phoenix Park Hotel for our group at a single rate of $359 + tax. Cancellation Policy
Full refunds will be made for cancellations received on or before March 18, 2024.  Cancellations made between March 19, 2024 and April 3, 2024 will be refunded 50% of the conference fee.  No refund will be issued for cancellations after April 3, 2024.

Siouxland Catholic Radio will cut the ribbon to celebrate their two new on-air local shows - Catholic Ministry Professionals with Jon Konz and Thai Hua sponsored by Briar Cliff and Symbols of Service with Derek Hill sponsored by Landkamer Flag Sales. 

The ribbon cutting will be livestreamed on their YouTube Channel, as well as all of the events of Day 2 of their Pledge Drive.

Guests can park in front of the station or on the north side (Pull into St. Boniface's parking lot. Enter through the station's marked door near the red garage door. The sign is hidden by the corn and is gone now).

Join us as we welcome Jiu Jitsu Kickboxing Unlimited as a new Chamber member. They will have food and refreshments to follow. 

They offer Jiu Jitsu classes for adults and kids. Their programs are for anyone looking to improve fitness, learn self-defense, or just find a new hobby. They pride themselves on structured youth classes to promote character building and anti-bullying.

The Village Cooperative of Sioux City is a community for active adults (62+)! Their Sioux City members enjoy the benefits of community living in a convenient location, secured entrances, underground heated parking with a car wash, and space for social activities as well as private celebrations. Amenities include a fitness center, walking path, outdoor deck and BBQ area, garden beds and community social activities.  A co-op offers affordable and maintenance-free living which is owned and controlled by its members. Private tours can be arranged by contacting the office and a wait list is available for a nominal fee for those who wish to plan for future housing.

Transco is excited to announce they have expanded their operations by adding a 2nd shift. 

They are working towards becoming a 3-shift operation in the future. Railcar repair demand is at an all-time high, and they need to expand in order to meet the demand from the industry. They will also continue to make significant investments in their infrastructure and improving their facilities. Along with those improvements, Transco is committed to bringing automation to their industry and Sioux City will be getting new technology that will allow them to continue to be the preferred provider for Railcar Repair.

Join us as we celebrate the grand opening of Siouxland Community Health's new Behavioral Health Clinic and new Chamber membership.

Their behavioral health team of Psychiatric Medication Managers, Psychotherapists, and Case Managers will assist with mental health, emotional, or social needs. Patients are referred to Behavior Health services by their medical provider, but they will also offer walk-in clinic hours for new patients.
