Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland is in need of Positive Role Models!

We are looking for male mentors specifically to fill this volunteer role. There are several boys on our waiting list who have been waiting for as long as two years for a Big Brother.

BBBS of Siouxland is a non-profit organization that creates and supports one-to-one youth mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Our vision is that all youth achieve their full potential.

Mentoring is what we know best and we have different mentoring programs available that shape the way you can interact with your mentee, better known as, a Little.

Community-Based: Many of our matches are considered a community-based match. That means they can go out in the community together and enjoy activities they both enjoy; the sky is the limit! Community-based matches meet at least twice a month for a minimum total of 4 hours.

Site-Based Lunch Buddies: These matches meet only in the school during the school year. They often spend time working on homework, playing games, or just catching up on what's new. Site-based matches meet once a week during the child's lunch/recess. This program is in the Le Mars Community School District, Gehlen Catholic School District, and Hinton Elementary School District.

Site-Based Beyond the Bell Buddies: We have teamed up with our local Beyond the Bell program to create mentoring programs at the school during their program hours. Matches meet once a week for 45minutes to an hour during the afterschool hours (4pm-6pm). Currently, Beyond the Bell Buddies serves Hunt, Leeds, Liberty, and Spalding Park Elementary Schools.

Bigs with Badges: This Community-Based program connects our youth with law enforcement and first responders in our community who care most about kids in our community. By matching kids who have prior negative interactions, or the potential to have negative interactions with the law with men or women from Siouxland’s finest, this program helps redirect at-risk kids while providing a better perspective on law enforcement.
