FEH DESIGN’S TOI SULLIVAN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT

The stockholders of FEH Design recently named Toi Sullivan, AIA a Vice President. Toi is the first female vice president in the firm’s 120+ year history.

Toi Sullivan, who joined FEH in 1999, is a licensed architect in the firm’s Sioux City office. As Vice President, Toi’s role will expand to include executive board leadership along with overseeing the marketing department. She will continue to be a principal designer for the firm’s educational, corporate, and religious work.

Toi graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota where she received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1992. After college, she worked in marketing and sales before pursuing a career in architecture.

"When I graduated, there were no architecture jobs available. After several years in another career, being an architect was a distant memory,” said Toi. “Then I landed an interview with FEH, and they took a leap of faith on me. I connected with a group of women and together, we studied for our architect licensure. Every year during my performance review, management would ask me about my future career plans, and I always said I wanted to be in leadership.”

Toi has been involved in many impactful projects in the Siouxland area including Terrace View Events Center, Camp High Hopes, Spirit Lake Community Schools, Le Mars Public Library, Rock Valley Community Schools, June E. Nylen Cancer Center, Henjes, Conner & Williams PC, Siouxland PACE, and the restoration of the Davidson Building and Warrior Hotel.

Toi’s passions include preserving historical architecture and supporting Siouxland leadership, having served on Sioux City’s Historic Preservation Commission, a past president of Leadership Siouxland, and a Women Lead Change volunteer.

Toi’s advice to young professionals: “Don’t wait for someone else to move your mountains.”

She is currently working on design projects for Telco Triad Community Credit Union, Sioux City Endodontics, and Gehlen Catholic School.

Toi resides in Sioux City with her husband, Brad. The couple have two daughters, a son-in-law, and three grandchildren.
