Unity in Action invites all Siouxland to kick-off this year’s Hispanic Heritage month with their three-day celebration from Thursday September 15th to Saturday September 17th.

This is the second annual celebration to commemorate our local Hispanic Heritage. As part of the national Welcoming America Week initiative and as a celebration of Latin American countries independence days, this festival continues to grow!

Thursday September 15th join us at 6:00pm at the South Sioux City Public Library for a fun night of Loteria (Mexican Bingo).

Friday September 16th join us at 8:00pm at the South Sioux City Jeffery Dible Soccer Complex for a family drive-in movie night. We will be watching the animated movie “Vivo” where “kids will be able to hear, feel, and see the richness and the soul of their heritages reflected in Vivo.” (Gonzales, 2021)

Saturday September 17th our main parade will go down Dakota Avenue at 11:00am and immediately afterwards will begin our Music and Food Festival from Noon-10:00pm at the South Sioux City Jeffery Dible Soccer Complex.

Festival goers can expect food from different countries, music, and dance from across Latin America, booths, and vendors from around Siouxland and a fun and busy kid zone.

Unity in Action will also be recognizing Latinx students with scholarships and showcasing a cultural fashion show. If you would like to join the fun, Unity in Action is still looking for volunteers, sponsors, and vendors. Check us out on Facebook and Instagram for more information or contact us at (402) 412-333 and info@unitedinactionne.org
